3D evacuation models for earthquake, fire and hostile act scenarios.

Emergency simulations

We simulate the emergency before it becomes real

Change scenario and watch how people reach the exits. Move the pointer inside the scene: it becomes an obstacle and the flow reorganizes.

In brief

Evacuation and emergency simulations with 3D models for earthquake, fire and terrorist act scenarios, and performance based fire engineering.

We simulate evacuation before it is needed: 3D evacuation models for earthquake, fire and hostile act scenarios, performance based fire engineering, and verification of emergency plans against real data.

Context

The new frontier of safety engineering makes it possible to resolve, in a single solution, the historic antithesis between planning and emergency response. Polis Consulting is among the leading companies for the simulation of emergency and evacuation scenarios, indoor and outdoor, with the public present, with a team entirely dedicated to studying and analysing emergency and evacuation plans.

Through modelling carried out with internationally recognised algorithms, derived from the fire engineering approach, it is possible to validate the timing and dynamics of existing emergency plans, or to determine the structural and management conditions for equivalent safety.

Results

The Polis team builds the 3D model of the facility, translates the conditions set out in the emergency plan into management measures, and simulates incident scenarios such as, for example, earthquake, fire and terrorist act.

The results of the simulations are handed over to the client's security functions, which can then:

  • deploy emergency personnel optimally
  • train staff on the consequences of different incident scenarios
  • minimize decision making time in the event of an emergency
